Time-Line
- 1983
Armed with little more than a couple thousand dollars, a tired old
duplicator and a lot of moxie Dennis Franklin Patterson and Teri Ann
Faychild open the doors of Ben Franklin Press, Napa's premier printing
company, on August 1.

1986 Even the
100-year flood, which submerged the shop under 4 feet of water
didn't dampen this duo for long. The loyal efforts of staff,
community and friends came together to bring Ben Franklin Press
back even stronger.
- 1987
After going through a flood together, the general partners became Mr. &
Mrs. Ben Franklin Press began bringing in wine label technology with two types
of diecutting, PMC and Steel Rule.
- 1990
Ben Franklin Press embraced electronic prepress.
- 1994
Foil stamping and embossing Kluge arrived.
- 1995
Ben Franklin Press introduced the first 6-color press for commercial
printing to the Napa Valley. It was this year that Ben Franklin
Press expanded its electronic prepress department. The proprietors
traveled to DRUPA
the world's largest printing show for continued
education and equipment search.
- 1996
Ben Franklin Press moved to its new location on Main Street and
purchased a Scitex Imagesetter that included the Brisque front
end, capable of auto trapping, color remake and imposition.
- 1997
Ben Franklin Press won the BENNY for wine label printing.
- 1998
Ben Franklin Press celebrated its 15th year of printing excellence.
- 1999
Ben Franklin Press began building renovation.
- Y2K
Ben Franklin Press launches new web site. developed by Huffman Communications.
Ben Franklin Press welcomes the addition of the new Scitex Scanner. Ben Franklin
Press partners with Taz
Tally and presents prepress classes. The entire Ben Franklin
Press team receives rave review on the plant building's new face lift.
- 2001
Ben Franklin Press wins Gold for Napa Davis Oops Cuvee.
Wins the "Benny" again for H. Gray
2002
Direct to Plate and Stocastic Screening.
2003

2004 Ben Franklin Press wins Best of Show/Redwood Empire for Chalk Hill.
